Tap to aim; drag to look around. Lock the moving direction line, then swing in the 86–94 clean zone. The green adds visible 1, 2 or 3 putts when the ball stops.

Sound

Two taps with more time. Using this marks the whole round as assisted.

The broad left side of the green is safe. A fuller iron brings the pin closer, but the pond waits beyond it.

How to use Daily Holes

  1. Read the hole and choose a club. Tap the map to set your aiming center; drag only to move the camera.
  2. Press Lock the line when the oscillating direction points along your chosen route.
  3. Press Swing to stop the power meter. The 86–94 band gives a clean strike; watch both landing and rollout.
  4. Check the shots, penalties and automatic putts, then continue through nine holes. After completing today, practice or share your result.

Daily Holes examples

A par-4 green finish

Input

2 shots
0 water penalties
2 automatic putts

Output

4 strokes · even par

Automatic putting is added only after the ball has stopped on the green.

A water recovery on a par 5

Input

3 shots, including the shot into water
1 water penalty
1 automatic putt

Output

5 strokes · even par

The water shot counts; the penalty is an additional stroke. The designated drop moves the ball, not the score.

Read the daily golf course before swinging

Inspect the fairway, water and landing space before choosing a route. On a dogleg or river hole, a safe first landing can leave an easier approach than aiming straight at the flag. Today’s round draws nine holes from eighteen original meadow, coast and highland layouts. The same UTC date and course revision give players the same layouts and wind.

Choose a club for flight and rollout

Longer clubs reach farther but have quicker timing and a wider direction swing. Wedges fly higher and stop sooner. Swipe the nine-club strip on a narrow phone to reach every option.

Displayed yardage is carry from the current lie before wind and rollout. Rough and sand reduce carry; wind and marked gust corridors push airborne shots. Grounded balls run farther on stone and stop sooner in rough or sand. Flying over water is safe only if landing and rollout stay dry. Water adds a penalty and moves the ball to the marked drop.

Time the line before the swing

A clean power hit cannot repair a poorly locked direction. If shots finish left, review the captured line and wind before adding power. Cancel a lock without a stroke to reconsider your club or aiming center. Dragging pans the camera; releasing a drag never fires. Watch where the ball stops as well as where it first lands.

Read your Daily Holes score

After the ball stops on the green, its visible region adds one, two or three automatic putts; their boundaries follow the slope rule. A direct cup capture adds none. Passing through the green and stopping outside it leaves another shot.

The card totals shots, penalties and putts. Every hole caps at par plus five; Pick up records and marks that capped score. Compare each result with its own par. Finish all nine for a complete scorecard.

Practice, history and sharing

Practice can improve best without replacing the first completed challenge. Using slower timing marks the whole round as assisted, even if you turn it off later; those records remain separate.

History keeps up to thirty completed dates, with streaks for consecutive completions. Share a finished round as text or an image showing its date, version, mode and results relative to par. Friends can play the same date at daily-holes.org. Records remain personal to this browser, without device sync or verified online rankings.

Resume your round and control sound

When saving works, accepted input is stored before flight, so refreshing restores that shot. An unfinished round keeps its date across UTC midnight. Watch save warnings and avoid deleting data during recovery. Another browser or profile has a separate save.

The menu controls effects, ambience and music separately. Music starts off, switching away pauses audio, and muted or blocked sound does not prevent play. Read how to play Daily Holes for full rules and keyboard controls, or Daily Holes help for recovery and sharing problems.

Daily Holes FAQ

Can I play Daily Holes here for free?

Yes. Play the game above at daily-holes.org. This independently developed game has its own layouts, artwork, rules, sounds and music. No account, subscription or payment is required.

How does the daily golf game change?

Each UTC date selects nine different layouts from eighteen original designs: three par 3s, four par 4s and two par 5s. Players with the same date and rules version receive the same layouts and wind. An unfinished round keeps its original date.

What do the two button presses do?

Lock the line captures the direction of the oscillating aim line. Swing then stops the power meter and hits the ball. Tap the map to change the aiming center before locking. Dragging only moves the camera, and releasing a drag never fires a shot.

Why did a clean swing miss the flag?

Power and direction are separate decisions. The clean 86–94 band does not correct an off-center line. Wind affects flight, the chosen lie affects carry, and surfaces affect rollout. Going beyond the band loses distance and increases existing direction error.

How are putts and water counted?

A ball that stops on the green receives one, two or three automatic putts from its visible region. A true cup capture adds no putt. Landing or rolling into water counts the shot, adds one penalty and uses the marked safe drop. Each hole caps at par plus five.

Can I practice or use slower timing?

After completing today’s challenge, you can replay that course without limit. Practice can improve best but preserves the first score. Slower timing is available in the menu; using it marks the entire round as assisted and keeps its records separate.

What happens if I refresh or finish after midnight?

When saving works, an accepted shot is stored before its animation, so refreshing restores the same shot instead of undoing it. An active round retains its starting UTC date after midnight. A new round uses the current date and course.

Where are my results kept?

In this browser and profile, when storage permits. Recent history contains up to thirty completed UTC dates, with first and best results and practice counts. Streaks count consecutive completed dates. There is no cloud recovery, device sync or validated online ranking.

How can I share my round?

After nine holes, copy result text, download the locally generated score image, or open device sharing where supported. The result includes date, version, mode, relative-to-par scores and daily-holes.org. Nothing posts automatically; canceled or failed sharing is reported accurately.

Can I use a keyboard and play without sound?

Yes. Tab reaches the clubs, main button and menu. On the focused map, Left and Right change aim, Up and Down choose clubs, and Enter or Space activates the current timing stage. Sound is optional; effects, ambience and music have separate controls, and music starts off.
